The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) led a national-level, multiple-stakeholder workshop in October 2008 to identify and prioritize research, development, deployment, and demonstration (RDD&D) needs for marine and other hydrokinetic renewable energy. As a topical area, environmental issues ranked high among the areas most in need of RDD&D. This presentation provides an overview of ongoing, environment-related RDD&D activities against the backdrop of the workshop results, to include several DOE-funded projects in which EPRI is currently engaged.
