The NMFS Office of Sustainable Fisheries hosted a two day workshop in March 2010 on ways to incorporate ecosystem considerations into fishery management decisions.  The workshop brought together staff from NMFS Regional Offices, Science Centers, and Headquarters to discuss management needs for ecosystem science and the current state of ecosystem science to support management. The workshop consisted of plenary sessions and working groups which addressed questions on scientific and management tools for ecosystem approaches to management.  This presentation will provide a summary of the major findings from the workshop and key recommendations on how to better incorporate ecosystem science into fishery management decisions.
