Americans are increasingly reliant on mobile phones in their daily lives.  In order to better adapt to these changes, fisheries scientists and managers need to be better understand how these changes affect their preferred approaches to data collection and information dissemination.  This presentation will provide a brief overview of recent changes in mobile phone usage patterns and provide suggestions on how to incorporate text messaging and mobile, web-based data collection into fisheries information and data collection programs.
