Adaptation to Captivity and the Fitness of Hatchery Steelhead in the Hood River

We will review data from the Hood River, Oregon, on fitness differences between wild steelhead and hatchery stocks.  A major focus will be on the causes of the fitness decline, and on identifying traits that may be responding to domestication selection in the hatchery.
