How things work: An overview of land use planning and the decision making process along the land to water interface.

Sustainable and smart land management in coastal zones create the integral link between land use and the health of our commercial and recreational fisheries. The director of the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office will provide an overview of the land use decision making mechanisms used in many comprehensive planning processes around the country. This presentation will set the stage for the symposia by providing background information on the processes that manage growth and development in and around the land to water interface.
