Forty common carp were collected from ten different farms (4 fish from each) at Azadeghan Integrated Fish Farming (Largest integrated aquaculture in Iran). The levels of cadmium (Cd) were determined in fish tissues using atomic absorption spectrophotometer and their levels were compared to figures recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The mean levels Cd (0.4 μg/g) in fish tissues were apparently higher than the values reported by WHO (0.2 μg/g).
