The navigation channel regulation in the Yangtze River ordinarily includes dredging works, reef blasting, revetment works, spit catting works, aids to navigation, facilities and environmental engineering. Among these, the dredging works and revetment works may have some impacts on river sediment characteristics, river bed structure, or riverbank. The current diversity of habitats will gradually lost after the regulation. Through analyzing the influences of navigation channel regulation to fish spawning grounds, feeding grounds, overwintering grounds and migration routes in the middle reach of the Yangtze River, according to the order of preventing, alleviating, restoring and compensating, the measures of the fish habitat were put forward to avoid and alleviate the influences of the navigation channel regulation in the Yangtze River to fish habitat, so as to provide some experiences in the fishery resources protecting of the navigation channel regulation in other sections of the Yangtze River or other rivers.
