The program of this course is planned in response to the need of implementing AFS standardized methods for sampling freshwater fishes. Implementation of these methods will increase the fisheries professional’s capacity for improving management practices for enhancing freshwater fish populations. Fisheries managers, undergraduate and graduate students, and academics will benefit from learning how to use an online tool developed through the AFS Fish Management Section to easily compare their own fisheries data with ecoregional, national and continent-wide averages for four different fish population indices.
