Practical Applications of Sturgeon Research, Part 1

Tuesday, August 19, 2014: 10:30 AM-5:20 PM
206A (Centre des congrès de Québec // Québec City Convention Centre)
Members of the order Acipenseriformes are threatened throughout their native ranges mostly due to the negative impacts of overharvest and habitat loss.  Due to this status, North American Acipenseriformes species have been heavily researched over the last 35 years, which has substantially advanced the understanding of sturgeon and paddlefish life history, behavior, and population dynamics.  This symposium will focus on the practical applications of sturgeon and paddlefish related research in conservation management programs, while also providing networking opportunities for sturgeon professionals.
