In the past, The Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership (SARP) has focused on instream flow through a variety of efforts including Southeast Instream Flow Network (SIFN) and played an active role in connecting local needs to a regional scale across the Southeast. More recently, SARP has formed an instream flow workgroup, composed of federal, state, NGOs and other interested partners, in an effort to address instream flow in changing environmental conditions and land use both in the short and long term. Initially, this workgroup has focused on identifying needs regarding flow in terms of management, research and, most importantly, outreach and messaging. This presentation will outline these needs, the short and long term goals, strategies to reaching those goals, and will identify avenues for interested partners to plug in and play an active role in addressing instream flows.
