For over 50-years, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has developed public partnerships and programs to advance habitat improvement and restoration for the benefit of its jurisdictional species - fish, amphibians, and reptiles, and its constituents – anglers and boaters in Pennsylvania. The commitment was strengthened in July 2006 when the Division of Habitat Management was created to provide additional agency resources toward this cause and to facilitate involvement in partnerships under the umbrella of the National Fish Habitat Action Plan (NFHAP). The Division of Habitat Management is partitioned into sections based on focus areas and expertise that include the Stream Habitat Section, Lake Habitat Section, Regional Habitat Section and Fish Passage Section. This presentation provides a broad overview of the Division of Habitat Management, habitat programs and overarching principals by which it operates, monitoring results from selected projects, and participation to date in regional NFHAP partnerships.
