Two isolates of mosquito fish (Gambusia affinis) were compared to determine if there were differences in their feeding behavior. One strain (local strain) was collected from Coachella Valley , Southern California. The other strain (cold strain) was obtained from a population of fish that had been kept in outdoor ponds in Nebraska for over 20 years. Data will be presented to compare the feeding behavior of these two strains on mosquito larvae and pupae dependent upon water temperature in vernal ponds and in neglected swimming pools.
