Advances In Hydroacoustic Assessment of Fish and Underwater Habitat Using “Mobile” Hydroacoustic Technologies

This Symposium will address the use of active acoustics (hydroacoustics) for fish and fish habitat assessment and monitoring using mobile survey methods.  Ranging from exploratory surveys to long-term monitoring activities, presentations will cover many aspects of mobile hydroacoustics from planning through assessment and reporting. Scientific acoustics are used in a variety of environments, both fresh and marine waters.  The objective of this symposium is to share current hydroacoustic work and to expand the vision of participants into the potential mobile applications of hydroacoustic tools that may benefit their activities.  All fisheries and aquatic habitat scientists should be aware of the potential of hydroacoustic tools to expand and enhance their activities.
