Continued participation of anglers and boaters is critical for conservation efforts in the U.S. The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) spearheads a national program to recruit and retain anglers and boaters, and to ensure that these activities remain at the forefront of consumers’ recreation choices. RBFF implements strategies identified in the “Strategic Plan for the National Outreach and Communication Program” that was prepared by the Department of the Interior’s Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council. Through its national brand campaign, Take Me Fishing™, and state-of-the-art website, www.TakeMeFishing.org, RBFF informs and educates individuals about fishing and boating opportunities, connects them to local fishing license and boat registration information and educates them about the importance of aquatic conservation. RBFF conducts research on angling and boating participation that provides key insight on these activities that is useful for resource managers.  In addition, RBFF supports various programs that provide fishing and boating opportunities for newcomers, youth and other groups in an effort to increase overall participation. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the various programs, products and resources available to fisheries managers for their resource programs.
