Th-4,5-31 Closing Remarks

Meeting Room 4,5 (RiverCentre)
Gilbert C. Radonski , Loftus Consulting, Swansboro, NC
The presentations in the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration 75th Anniversary Symposium will capture the history of the development and enactment of the Wallop – Breaux (W–B) Amendments to the Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Act.  Also captured will be the role of the Act and the Amendment to the broadening of the array of disciplines defining modern fishery science and examples of the benefits accruing to the environment, anglers/boaters, industry and government. All this begs the question: Where do we go from here? The answer to that question relies on coalescing our partnerships and accomplishments into a Sport Fish Restoration brand.  Tying together the history and accomplishments of this successful user pay/user benefit program, thought provoking insight into the future of this program and its implications for the fisheries profession, sport fishing industry, and fisheries resources will be offered.
