The Customers Journey of Recruitment and Retention of Anglers in Oregon

Shahab Farzanegan , Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Salem, OR
The angler's customer journey is the process that customers go through from the time they first become aware of fishing as activity through the time that they have gone out fishing and beyond. This presentation focuses on strategies developed from the Wilderness Management Institute that the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) has implemented over the last 3 years to engage the customer from awareness to avidity. We will focus on methods including marketing strategies, developing partnerships, targeted programming and evaluation though the ODFW Outdoor Skills program's angling workshops and events.
