Communication Skills for the Successful Professional

Effective communication of scientific findings and research beyond peer-reviewed publication is increasingly viewed as a necessary part of a scientist’s skill set. Identifying audience, scaffolding upon existing knowledge, refining speaking points, and understanding the elements of a story are skills that can help researchers translate their work for multiple audiences. We will discuss science communication in various media and describe some of the resources available for improving researchers’ ability to communicate their work.
