109-10 Fostering Environmental Careers Through Participation
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Environmental Education works closely with the offices and divisions within the agency promoting and fostering careers in environmental fields to middle and high school students across Ohio. Programs/curriculums include State Science Day Governor Awards, Middle School Future City Competition, Ohio Environmental Education Fund (OEEF) Mini/General Grants (Save Our Streams Project), Scholarships for 2 and 4 Year State Colleges /Universities, Environmental Presentations (career fairs and lectures), Healthy Water, Healthy People Curriculum and Level 1 Credible Data Water Quality Monitoring Workshops and Programs. I propose to present a session showing how we promote/foster environmental careers by providing the programs and curriculum to the middle and high school students of Ohio. The session would provide participants with information on how to get their own programs started in their respective states.
